HOW IT WORKS
A Private, Guided Matching Process
1. Join the confidential waitlist
Complete a private profile explaining:
Where you would like to live
How much your household can contribute each month
Whether you are interested in renting or purchasing
When you would like to move
Your household and bedroom needs
The type of shared-home arrangement you would consider
Your household routines, preferences, and nonnegotiables
2. Your profile is reviewed privately
Your information is not posted publicly or placed on an open roommate board.
Profiles are reviewed for potential compatibility based on practical housing and household considerations, including location, budget, timing, property needs, household routines, and shared-living expectations.
3. A possible match is identified
When two households appear potentially compatible, each parent or guardian is contacted separately.
A general, non-identifying summary may be shared first. Your name, contact information, and other identifying details will not be shared without your permission.
4. Both households decide whether to connect
An introduction happens only when both participants agree.
You will have an opportunity to meet, ask questions, discuss expectations, and decide whether you would like to continue exploring the arrangement.
There is never an obligation to accept a suggested match.
5. Begin the housing search
When both households are comfortable moving forward, they may begin exploring rental or purchase opportunities that meet their combined needs.
Licensed real estate assistance may be provided through Blackwell & Associates, LLC, with the appropriate brokerage disclosures and representation documents.
CHOOSE THE TYPE OF HOUSEHOLD THAT FITS YOU
Shared Housing Does Not Have to Look the Same for Everyone
Some participants may want a practical arrangement focused primarily on housing costs. Others may hope to develop a friendship or create a more supportive household.
Housing-Cost Arrangement
Share the home and agreed housing expenses while generally maintaining separate lives and responsibilities.
Friendly Shared Household
Maintain separate responsibilities while being open to a positive friendship, occasional shared meals, or family activities.
Supportive Parent Household
Explore selected shared routines, household expenses, transportation, meals, or mutually agreed support.
Village-Style Household
Build a more connected and cooperative household with shared activities and clearly established expectations.
Every household arrangement should be discussed openly and documented clearly before a lease or purchase commitment is made.
WHO PARENT HOUSING MATCH IS DESIGNED TO HELP
For Parents and Guardians Exploring a Different Housing Option
Parent Housing Match is designed for parents and legal guardians navigating circumstances such as:
Separation or divorce
Loss of a partner or household income
A significant financial change
Relocation
The end of a current housing arrangement
Difficulty carrying housing expenses alone
A desire to remain near a child’s school, community, or support system
Interest in sharing housing with another compatible parent household
Parent Housing Match welcomes parents and legal guardians exploring voluntary shared housing, regardless of their particular family structure.
You do not have to be in an emergency to join. Some participants may need housing soon, while others may be planning several months in advance.
PRIVACY AND SAFETY
This Is Not a Public Roommate Board
Your application will not be displayed publicly.
Your identifying information will not be shared with another participant unless you first agree to an introduction.
Parent Housing Match may facilitate introductions, but every participant remains responsible for determining whether another household and any proposed housing arrangement are suitable for their family.
Before entering a lease or purchasing a property together, participants may be asked to complete appropriate steps such as:
Identity verification
Rental or financial qualification
Landlord or lender approval
Rental and personal references
Third-party screening
A written household agreement
Independent legal advice when appropriate
Parent Housing Match does not arrange, supervise, provide, or guarantee childcare. Any childcare or child-supervision arrangement would be a separate, voluntary agreement between the participating adults.
